UV Printing VS Sublimation Transfer Printing

sublimation printingWhat is UV Printing?
UV printing is a unique method of digital printing utilizing ultraviolet (UV) light to dry or cure ink, adhesives, or coatings almost as soon as it’s hit the paper, or aluminum, foam board, or acrylic – in fact, as long as it fits in the printer, the technique can be used to print on almost anything.

What is Sublimation Transfer Printing?
Sublimation is the process of printing special sublimation ink onto special sublimation transfer paper using a sublimation printing technique. Instead of traditional inkjet transfers that print ink on top of the t-shirt or item, you’re working with, sublimation ink actually becomes a part of the substrate you’re printing on. How do you ask? It’s simple. Once the ink from your sublimation transfer paper is heat pressed onto the item you’re printing on, it opens up the pores of the fabric that you’re pressing heat onto. Once you press the paper onto your item and release pressure, the heat will cool and the ink will turn back into a solid form. The result? The pores will close permanently and encapsulate the ink within the polymer coating of your men’s t-shirt or women’s t-shirt. So the ink turns from a solid to a gas and them back into a solid—it’s like your very own chem experiment!

UV printingThe difference between uv printing and sublimation transfer printing is the following:

1. Different ink

Sublimation ink is dispersed heat transfer ink; UV printer uses UV ink.

2. The printing process is different

Sublimation Transfer Printing: sublimation print is to print the color pattern on the heat-resistant substrate first, usually using film material, and also need to go through the release process, and then combine the special transfer equipment to transfer the pattern to the hot stamping method. Product surface. Heat transfer printing needs to be equipped with matching products such as heat press machine, baking tray machine, cup making machine, etc. Different products need to be processed accordingly.

The UV printer directly prints the desired pattern directly on the surface of the product, which is essentially a type of piezoelectric inkjet printing device. The ultraviolet wave emitted by the LED cold light source lamp reacts with the photosensitive curing agent in the uv ink, causing the pigment molecules in the uv ink to solidify on the surface of the material.

3. The application industry differences:

Sublimation transfer printing is currently used in clothing, plastics, toys, electrical appliances, gifts, advertising banners and other industries. The advantage is that it can be printed on curved and irregular surfaces.

UV printers are mainly used in many industries such as mobile phone shells, ceramic tiles, glass, metal, building materials, advertising, leather and so on.

The advantage lies in that it is desirable to wait, the operation is convenient, and it can achieve instant production and mass production.
