When many people started to contact DTG printer. They listened to the advocacy and introduction of the merchants, and felt that DTG printer was omnipotent. I dream of a machine that can print all fabrics, that is, a kind of ink can target all fabrics with good color and fastness. But the current technology has not yet reached such a level. Therefore, there is no digital direct-injection printing machine that can print all fabrics without changing the ink.
If you are a manufacturer that only produces T-shirts, you can use our machines. The business continues to expand in the later period, and perhaps you are thinking about engaging in a broader field of garment production. At this time, it is recommended that you buy a few more machines, and the original machine is still used to produce T-shirts. For newly purchased machines, for example, if you want to be engaged in high-end fabrics such as woolen sweaters and silk. We recommend using one machine to spray woolen sweaters and the other to spray silk.
After all, the type of ink used is different depending on the object produced. If a machine uses different inks, it may block the nozzles, and may also cause abnormal operation of other parts, thereby reducing machine production efficiency and affecting printing results.
In textile digital printing, the nozzle of the digital direct-injection printing machine is very critical. A good quality nozzle can ensure high-quality pattern design and maintain a fast production speed. However, because the nozzle is too close to the fabric, some fabrics cannot be used for digital printing. For example, some off-line fabrics will come into contact with the nozzle and cause damage.
1.DTG printer is used on cotton, linen fabrics
Cotton, hemp, and silk are applied to the DTG printer and are directly sprayed onto the fabric through a digital printing machine, but this fabric requires a treatment in the early stage, called sizing, or spraying of pretreatment liquid. Without this pre-processing action, the machine printing color will not be displayed on the clothes.
2.DTG printer is applied to polyester chemical fiber fabric
As we all know, DTG printer is most suitable for blended fabrics with pure cotton and high cotton content. However, this does not mean that DTG printer cannot be used on polyester chemical fiber fabrics.
Compared with white clothes, colored clothes have higher technical requirements. Under the general curing temperature of direct jet printing, dyes are easy to migrate, especially on polyester fabrics. The solution to this problem is to use a low curing temperature ink.
The other is printed on dark polyester garments and requires pretreatment. This pretreatment liquid is a polyester pretreatment liquid specifically for this material. The pretreatment liquid should be sprayed evenly, after being pressed and dried by a hot press, it can be printed on a direct jet machine.
This technology may vary depending on the specific garment fabric and ink system, so experiments must be carried out.
3.DTG printer is used in blended fabrics
Some blended fabrics can be used with T-shirt direct spraying machines, while others cannot. Blended fabric is composed of two different materials. This is because DTG printer can only use one type of ink. Since each material requires a different type of ink, as a printing company. It is necessary to use ink that is suitable for the main material constituting the fabric. This also means that the ink will not be colored on another material, causing the color to become lighter and white.
Generally, DTG printer can handle mixed fabrics distributed in 70-30% ratio. For example, a blended fabric composed of 70% cotton and 30% polyester can be printed with reactive ink. However, for 60-40% of blended fabrics, using DTG printer will have limitations in terms of color depth.
4.DTG printer is not suitable for nylon fabric
At present, as an important domestic production base for chemical fiber fabrics, DTG printer makes polyester fabrics everywhere, but there are very few nylon fabrics. This is mainly because nylon fabric printing has many restrictions. Nylon fabrics can not be dyed or printed in high temperature environments, so direct-jet printing is often used for printing. And acid dyes are also used. The biggest difficulty of acid dyes is that the color is unstable after printing and the color fastness is not good. These problems have existed for a long time. Therefore, it is not recommended to use nylon clothes on DTG printer.
5.DTG printer is applied to wool
Printing on wool fabrics using DTG printer is feasible, but it depends on the type of wool fabric used. If you want to print on “fluffy” wool fabrics, this means that there are a lot of fluff on the surface of the fabric. So the nozzle must be as far away from the fabric as possible. Because the pre-treatment liquid on the fluff and the white ink on the nozzle chemically react to form crystals, which block the nozzle. In addition, the diameter of the wool yarn is five times the diameter of the nozzle in the nozzle, so it will seriously damage the nozzle. Therefore, it is very important to choose a digital printing machine that allows the printing head to print at a higher position from the fabric.
6.DTG printer is applied to silk
Another natural fiber suitable for digital textile printing is silk. Silk can be printed with reactive ink (better color fastness) or acid ink (broader color gamut).
In any case, the cost of DTG printer is still higher than that of ordinary printing, which determines that DTG printer printing is more suitable for high-end and high-value products. For example, DTG printer just appeared suitable for many applications on real silk, which is the reason. But nowadays, chemical fiber fabrics are also widely used. The logic lies in the high processing cost & low white embryo price. Looking at the current trends in the fashion industry, chemical fiber fabrics, such as silk fabrics, are mostly used.
