Before we get into the problems, let’s go over some printer components you should be aware of.

Ecotank. Container containing the ink tanks. It should have at least one-third of its capacity filled with ink.

Ink waste tank. A waste ink tank, i.e. the liquid from cleaning and maintaining the print head, is added to prevent the waste pad from filling up. To avoid breakdowns, this container must be emptied on a regular basis.

Dampers. These are the cartridges that are situated above the print head. They are linked to the Ecotank by a hose.

Printing head. Because it is the component that aids in the transfer of ink, it must be handled with care. We will show you how to clean it and replace it as needed.

Station for capping. This is where the print head rests and where the waste ink is flushed. It keeps the head in good shape.

Now that you’ve identified the components, let’s get to work troubleshooting!

There is no color coming out.

If this is your first time using the printer, you may encounter this issue. Here’s how to make it right:

initial ink charging: First and foremost, fill your DTF打印机 with ink. To do so, open the cap of each tank and fill it with the appropriate ink. Make certain that you use the correct color, which is usually indicated on a label. Keep all caps closed except the one you’re filling to avoid contaminating other colors. When they are empty, turn on the printer and briefly press the ink button. This will begin the initial charging process, which could take up to 20 minutes.

When the initial charging is not completed correctly, blank printouts result. To resolve this, launch the Resetter software that came with your printer. Select ‘Particular adjustment mode,’ then ‘Ink charge,’ and then ‘OK.’ Select ‘Initial ink charge’ from the drop-down menu, check ‘Do not increase waste ink pad counter’, and then click ‘Ink charge.’ It will prompt you to restart the printer, which will reset the ink charge.

Transportation lock: You have most likely set the transportation lock to the locked position, which prevents ink from being supplied from the ink tank to the print head. As a result, if the ink runs out in the dampers, you may be out of ink. Before printing, make sure the transportation lock is unlocked.

DTF Printer does not print in white or any other color.

This is the most prevalent issue. This is usually caused by white ink sedimentation, which is the root of all problems. The solutions are as follows:

Tank stirring: Shake the tanks before performing any printing or maintenance action to avoid sedimentation. It is a simple but effective method for preventing many problems. This feature is already available on some current printers.

Print head cleaning: Perform a simple print head cleaning before printing. This will suffice if you normally use the printer. Select ‘Print Head Cleaning’ from the ‘Printing Preferences’ menu. Check the nozzle to ensure that all of the colors are coming out correctly.
Power cleaning: If you don’t see any improvement after cleaning the head, you should perform a power cleaning. This cleaning will clear the circuit as well as the dampers. Then it will refill them by releasing pressure and clearing the nozzles.

Damper shaking or replacement: Shake the dampers at least once every 15 days. Turn on the printer and unplug it once the print head has been unblocked. Use a power strip to protect the connection when pulling. Bring the print head into working order. Remove the screw from the cover and use a flat screwdriver to loosen each damper. Shake them now to prevent sediments. Check and make sure that there is no existence of air in them. If there is any, a syringe can be used to extract it. If the dampers are heavily clogged, they may need to be replaced. Remove the hose and replace it with the new one.
Flushing: This is the process of flushing the cleaning solution through the print head’s nozzles. There are two methods of flushing: one that does not require the removal of the head and one that does. Let us examine the distinctions:

When the print head moves, unplug the printer from the power strip. Remove the print head cover and the screw.

Place the head on top of the kitchen paper.
Using a flat screwdriver, remove the cartridges and keep them in order.
Fill the syringe halfway with liquid from the container.

Connect the nozzle to the hose and gently push the cleaning solution through the print head.

Repeat the procedure on the clogged nozzles.

Disassembling the DTF printing head to flush it

When the printer’s head moves, turn it on and unplug it from the power strip.

Remove the cover and bring it to the work area.
Remove the dampers.
With a screwdriver, remove the right cover that holds the flex cables from the head.
Next, take out the back piece. To release the tabs on each side, use a screwdriver. Unscrew the three remaining screws with a magnetic screwdriver to release the head.

Remove the head and place it upside down, being careful not to touch the silver part; otherwise, the head will be damaged. Release the flex cables all at once with caution.
Clean around the edge of the print head, which may have dried ink on it, with a cleaning stick.

Now, fill a syringe halfway with cleaning solution and flush it through each nozzle. Put a bucket or container underneath to catch any spills. You should press down firmly but not too firmly. The ink will come out first, followed by the cleaning fluid.

Reassemble the head once you’ve finished. Connect the cables correctly. Replace the screws, protectors, and dampers as needed.
If none of the above methods produce any results, you should probably replace the print head. As previously stated, disassembling the print head is not a difficult task. Simply replace it, and your printer will be ready to use again. We recommend replacing the dampers when you replace the DTF Printer print head.
