Frequently Asked Questions
What products can these UV printers print on?
The series supports direct printing on cylindrical bottles, straight-sided tumblers, tapered cups and selected sports balls. Typical applications include drinkware customization, promotional gifts, team merchandise and personalized basketballs, rugby balls and American footballs.
Can one printer handle both bottles and sports balls?
Yes. The DCP-80 Ball series supports spherical, cylindrical and conical objects with application-specific fixtures. Switching between product types requires the appropriate fixture and print settings.
Can these printers print on tapered cups and bottles?
Yes. Compatible models support tapered cups and bottles using suitable fixtures and printing settings. The achievable print area depends on the taper, dimensions and surface profile. Please provide the top diameter, bottom diameter and printable height for evaluation.
Can the printers produce 360-degree wraparound designs?
Compatible cylindrical and tapered products can be printed with wraparound designs using suitable rotary fixtures and settings. Seam alignment and printable coverage depend on product geometry and setup. Sports ball printing should be evaluated separately; support for ball printing does not mean full-surface coverage of every ball.
What does a high printing gap mean?
The printing gap is the distance between the printhead nozzle surface and the product surface. A higher supported gap helps accommodate curved surfaces and variations in surface height
Which materials are suitable for printing?
Potential substrates include compatible metal, glass, plastic and coated drinkware surfaces, as well as selected synthetic materials used in sports balls.
Do products need surface pretreatment before printing?
Some surfaces may require cleaning, primer or another pretreatment to achieve suitable adhesion. Requirements vary by substrate, coating and ink system. We recommend testing your actual products before finalizing the production process.
Are the printed designs resistant to washing and abrasion?
Durability depends on the substrate, ink, pretreatment, curing conditions and use. Drinkware should be tested against your washing requirements, and sports balls should be tested for rubbing, flexing and wear. Dishwasher resistance or long-term performance should be confirmed through testing rather than assumed.
